Last week saw the release of SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom – Rehydrated, a newly remastered version of the classic game from my childhood! Despite my love for all-things SpongeBob SquarePants, I wasn’t too familiar with the original game. After all, I didn’t really have any modern consoles as a kid, so I only got the opportunity to play the game a couple of times.
That said, in the week of playing the game, I’ve been absolutely obsessed with it! My husband jokes that he’s never seen me on my Switch Lite more than my MacBook Air until now; and indeed, it’s probably true. This weekend, in particular, saw me spend some extra time battling the game as I took almost an entire afternoon trying to beat the King Jellyfish in the second level and make my way back to the beginning of Jellyfish Fields to help out Squidward and collect my golden spatula.
If none of that makes any sense to you, don’t worry – it’s still a newer game (kind of). But I already foresee myself spending far too much time trying to beat it the next few weeks.
